Requirements set out in the Council Directive on the Approximation of the Laws of the Member States relating to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive (2004/108/EEC) and Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EEC):
The Electromagnetic compatibility directive (2004/108/EC) was created to regulate the compatibility of equipment regarding EMC, to guarantee the free movement of apparatus and to create an acceptable electromagnetic environment in the community territory.
The Low voltage Directive (2006/95/EC) applies to all electrical equipment designed for use with an input/output voltage rating of 50~1000V for alternating current and 75~1500V for direct current.
The Energy related products directive (2009/125/EC) aims to reduce energy consumption and other negative environmental impacts of products.
EN55022 - Information Technology Equipment Standard. Measures radio disturbance characteristics, limits and methods of measurement.
EN55011 – Measures unintentional E-field emissions for equipment generating and/or using radio frequency energy within the frequency range of 9KHz~400GHz.
EN61204-3 - Low voltage power supplies, DC output, electromagnetic compatibility providing DC output up to 200V at a power level of up to 30KW operating from an AC or DC source voltages up to 600V.
EN61000-6-1 - Applying to electrical and electronic apparatus intended to be directly connected to a low voltage public network or to a dedicated DC source which is intended to interface between the apparatus and the low-voltage public mains network. The standard objective is to define the immunity test requirements for apparatus specified in the scope in relation to continuous and transient conducted and radiated disturbances including electrostatic discharges.
EN61000-6-3 - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Standard for residential, commercial and light industrial environments..
EN61000-3-2 - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Standard for harmonic current emissions. Relevant for equipment with input current up to and including 16A per phase.
EN61000-3-3 - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Standard for limitation of voltage changes, voltage fluctuations and flicker in public low voltage supply systems. For equipment with rated current 16A per phase and not subject to conditional connection.
EN55024 - Requirements for the electromagnetic immunity of information technology equipment, reviewing all relevant tests, test levels, product operating conditions and assessment criteria in relation to continuous and transient conducted and radiated disturbances.
EN61000-4-2 - Relates to the immunity requirements and test methods for electrical and electronic equipment subjected to static electricity discharges, from operators directly and from personnel to adjacent objects. To establish a common and re-producible basis for evaluating the performance of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to electrostatic discharges.
EN61000-4-3 - Applies to the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment to radiated electromagnetic energy. Establishes test levels and the required test procedures. Establishes a common reference for evaluating the performance of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to radio-frequency electromagnetic fields.
