500W U-bracket PFC Power Supply
MEAN WELL launches its new USP-500 series – 500W U-bracket type power supply with power factor correction (PFC) function for the growing demand of low profile middle wattage applications. Featuring advanced technology for high efficiency, USP-500 possesses up to 90% of efficiency, even for the 12V model, and hence it can supply 400W using free air convection alone, making it perfectly suitable for fanless usage. By applying 23.5CFM of system forced air, an even higher output of 500W can be obtained. With 6.2W/ in3 of high power density, USP-500 series is a compact 90~264V switcher that is ideal for 1U (1.75-inch) installations. Standard functions include remote ON/OFF control, remote sense, DC OK signal output, short circuit, overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature protections.
Complying with worldwide safety and performance standards from UL, CSA, TUV, CB, and CE, the low profile USP-500 series is targeted at critical applications with limited space. All the design and component selection are based on a rigid procedure and the reliability of these PSU are also significantly increased because of the no fan design. Suitable application areas are general electronic application, factory automation, telecommunications, networking, test & measurement, audio system, massage machine, and large size LCD TV.
