To comply with the growing trend for energy saving products MEAN WELL have introduced the new high performance PFC-G5 family, with high operating efficiency and low no load power consumption.  After the introduction of the first models, HRP(G)-150 Series, these new 600W models are now available.

HRP(G)-600 Series are AC/DC miniature enclosed type power supplies with PFC function, that fulfil the requirement of EN61000-3-2 for harmonic current. Compared to the first generation of enclosed type PFC MEAN WELL power supplies SP-500 or PSP-600 Series, HRP(G)-600 are reduced in size by 23.4% whilst the efficiency has increased by up to 5%.

Standard features of HRP-600 and HRPG-600 include 300VAC input surge immunity for 5 seconds, remote sense, DC OK signal, LED indicator, heavy industry level of EMS immunity (EN6100-6-2) and protections for short circuit, over load (constant current limiting), over voltage and over temperature. Featuring up to 89% efficiency and 6.77W/in3 of power density, they can provide 600W continuously at temperatures up to 50°C by built-in DC fan speed control function.

To fulfil the emerging trend of eco-design MEAN WELL specifically offer the HRPG-600 models with additional remote ON/OFF control and 5V/0.3A standby output to acheive the no load power consumption level of <0.5W. More and more end systems require this feature to comply with the requirements of Energy Star and EuP norms so using HRPG-600 should help designers acheive these regulations easily. Suitable applications of HRP(G)-600 are general electronic applications, factory automation, moving sign, test and measurement equipment and many other appications that require low no load power consumption.
