MEAN WELL have expanded their railway power supply family and introduced the RSD-300 series (300W). With the different wattage models of 100W/150W/200W/300W available, MEAN WELL’s complete product line of enclosed type single output DC/DC converters can fulfill the various requirements of vehicle applications. Featuring with 2:1 (±40%) wide input range and 4000VDC input/output isolation, RSD-300 series are characterized by 5G anti-vibration ability, wide range working temperature of -40~+70â„ƒ, short circuit; overload; output over voltage; over temperature protections, and input reverse polarity, as well as built-in constant current limiting circuit and 40mm low profile design (1U compliance)…etc.
With up to date high efficiency circuit design, the RSD-300 series possess up to 91% high efficiency. All of the series units are semi-encapsulated for PCB protection to provide the basic ability of anti-moisture, anti-dust, heat dissipation as well as anti-vibration. Therefore, they can be cooled without any forced-air but will still work between -40â„ƒ to +70â„ƒ ambient temperature, which fits in perfectly with harsh environment applications. The design of these new converters are in line with ITE standards (IEC60950-1 and EN55022) and also comply with railway certificates (EN50155, IEC60571, IEC61373, EN50121-3-2), so that they are suitable to be used in all kinds of vehicles equipped with a DC power source. The applications include railway, metro rapid transit system, subway, bus, leisure trailer, and vessel…etc. In addition, along with external batteries as the energy source, they are also suitable for harsh industrial installations that involve dust and moisture, such as security system, DC UPS system, and telecom equipments…etc.
